Ends 2/17 | Dallas in the Time of MLK During the 1960s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made two important visits to speak in Dallas. The exhibit focuses on King’s 1963 speech in Fair Park and his 1966 speech at Southern Methodist University.

 1/10 | Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival Ticket On-Sale Launch Event

The Cliburn will kick off sales for the Second Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival with a special launch event at NorthPark Center at 11:00 AM. The event will feature a performance by 2015 Cliburn Junior Competitor Amir Siraj, remarks from renowned Dallas arts patron and NorthPark owner Nancy A. Nasher and Cliburn President & CEO Jacques Marquis, a light reception following remarks, and on-site box office. Twenty-two North Texas Film Festivals have come together to give a gift to the community: a celebration of all festivals, as one festival. Each festival will screen a short or feature-length film that best evokes who they are. Come sample the best of zests and experience new perspectives.

 1/17-18 | Chocolate And Art Show Dallas

Indulge yourself in some of Dallas’ finest up-and-coming artists, photographers and creators! There is something for every body including live body painting, live music, face-painting, live portraits and free chocolate! Show goes from 8pm – 2am. Ages 21+.

 1/18-21 | Jurassic Quest

Jurassic Quest is Americas Largest and most realistic Dinosaur Event. Our guests will walk through the Cretaceous period, the Jurassic Period and The Triassic period and experience for themselves what it was like to be among living, breathing dinosaurs. Jurassic Quest is the only Dinosaur event that has true to life size dinosaurs. In collaboration with leading paleontologists, each one was painstakingly replicated in every detail.

 1/19 | Texas Wine & Cheese Tasting

Sip local at the Dallas Farmers Market Texas Wine & Cheese Tasting. Wineries from across the state will sample premium wines made from the Texas grape harvest. Pair your wine with a fine selection of Texas-made artisan cheeses. The Texas Wine & Cheese Tasting is local, hand-crafted and brought to you with care. Visit with the makers, enjoy live music and stroll the weekend market as you taste the richness of Texas.

 1/20 | Film Screen: Selma by the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance In conjunction with the City of Dallas’ annual celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr., join us for a screening of Selma at the Texas Theater. The film is based on the 1965 voting rights marches from Selma to Montgomery led by Dr. King and other Civil Rights leaders. Tickets are free – RSVP here.

 1/21 | 2019 MLK Day Parade

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center’s Board, Steering Committee, and Staff invite you to participate in the 37th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Weekend March/Parade. The march/parade will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019, starting from Holmes Street and MLK Jr. Blvd. promptly at 10:00 AM.


 1/25 | Final Fridays at the Dallas Art Gallery (The DAG)

Final Fridays at the Dallas Art Gallery! Come to the 8th floor and see some of the best artists that Dallas has to offer. There will be food, drink, music and ART! Everything is for purchase.  1/26 | Big D Climb 2019

The Big D Climb is set for Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Bank of America Plaza, the tallest building in downtown Dallas! Take the challenge and climb 70 stories to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society raise $350,000 for the mission. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

 1/26 | Creating Peace: A Free Public Talk with Gen Kelsang Menla

Gen Kelsang Menla will share some simple Buddhist teachings and a practice of meditation that will open a window in our mind, through which we can see the possibility of true peace and happiness. By connecting to the peace within ourselves we can then gradually bring about peace in our families, in our life, and in our world.

 1/26-27 | BRICKLIVE Presented By Kids ‘R’ Kids

BRICKLIVE will launch its first ever event in the United States at The Star in Frisco on January 26 & 27, 2019. Produced by Live Nation, the international LEGO® brick event will feature over 99,000 square feet of astonishing interactive exhibits, hands-on building activities, amazing live performances and incredible demonstrations for builders of all ages inside Ford Center.

Black History Month

The Texas Theatre and South Dallas Cultural Center are proud to present the 2nd annual Black Filmmaker Series in conjunction with Black History Month at the South Dallas Cultural Center. Co-presented by the African American Museum of Dallas and City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.

2/9 | Chinese New Year Festival 2019

Join the Crow Museum of Asian Art at NorthPark Center for their 20th annual Chinese New Year Festival, celebrating 2019—the Year of the Earth Pig. Pigs are considered a symbol of wealth; their chubby faces and big ears are both signs of good fortune. This year’s festivities will include a wealth of activities and festivities to help ring in the New Year, including dragon and lion dances, art making for all ages, and giveaways throughout the Center.

2/9 | 2019 Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Dallas

The Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k, coined as America’s Sweetest Race, is brought to you by RAM Racing. Established in 2008, the inaugural Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k ran through the streets of Chicago, Illinois. Since its inception, over 200,000 participants have run for chocolate, making it the fastest growing race series in the nation!

2/9 | The Morning After, a Dallas Observer Brunch Event

2/9 | India Day 2019

The India Association of North Texas is celebrating India’s Republic day by hosting the 43rd Annual India Day Celebration, a fun filled event of songs and dances from various parts of India, performed by very enthusiastic local artists of a varying of ages. It is celebrated to commemorate India’s Republic Day, the day on which the Constitution of India came into force. It is one of the three National holidays in India.

2/10 | Cochon555 Epic Culinary Competition in Dallas

Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas will play host to an all-star cast of chefs who specialize in whole-animal cooking paired with farmers responsibly raising delicious heritage breed pigs when Cochon555 returns to Dallas on February 10th. The all-inclusive feast will feature a hundred-plus prominent chefs, farmers, sommeliers, distillers, brewers and barkeeps all working in concert to create luxurious moments that educate the palate. At the heart, Cochon555 aims to create moments of inspiration, and to engender discussion and action – to buy, to cook, shop and donate in the name of safe, honest, and delicious food.

2/10 | 5th Annual North Texas Craft Beer Chili Challenge

The last four years were so much fun and were such a great success, we’re doing it again this year…only bigger! We invited all the North Texas breweries to come out and compete with a chili made using one of their beers. The public will vote for their favorite and we’ll run the winning brewery’s chili as a special on the menu for a limited time. We will be selling tasting cups/spoons with the proceeds benefiting the North Texas Food Bank.

2/10 | Pups & Pilates-For Charity: Buds & Brews Edition at Panther Island Brewing

Make a day out of it and bring YOUR bud to this fun-filled Pilates session with cute little doggies running all around you! Man’s best bud will surely leave you with that ‘oh-so happy’ feeling for the rest of your day. This is a special collaboration with Prairie Paws Adoption Center, who are providing the adorable pups.

 2/16 | The Greatest Gala on Earth

The Greatest Gala on Earth is an opportunity for individuals, groups, companies, and organizations to become involved with Chase’s Place, a school for kids with special needs. The event is a fun night of dinner, dancing, and an auction of the kids’ artwork enhanced by local artists. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to the operation of the school, therapy costs, and financial aid.

 2/16-17 | HackDFW 2019

HackDFW is the design-thinking hackathon of Dallas. It is a place where you can be part of the nebulous, wondrous, awe-inspiring, frustrating-yet-glorious process of creating. A place where ideas aren’t limited by fear or doubt, only 24 hours.

 2/19-23 | Engineers Week: Invent Amazing

Engineering opportunities abound as you engage in hands-on and mind-challenging activities throughout the Museum. Invent, design, test and improve your ideas while you collaborate with area engineers and explore the fascinating fields of engineering. Engineers Week activities are included with regular Museum exhibit admission.

Fashion Group International of Dallas presents the 22nd Annual Rising Stars Awards. The Oak Cliff Cultural Center presents “Written Witness,” a FREE exhibition on view from February 23 – March 29. Fabric Artist-Poet Jas. Mardis and Calligrapher Andrea Tosten exhibit small-to-large work in paper and fabric exploring responses to race, injustice, and identity through fabric portraiture, symbolism, leather & wood burning and hand-lettered explorations of select, reflective classic literature.

 2/23 | Mardi Gras Texas Style! 2019

Celebrating its 18th year, Mardi Gras Texas Style! is a one-of-a-kind music festival that takes place in the historic State Fairgrounds in Dallas, Texas. During the event, guests will enjoy live entertainment, a photobooth and delicious bites at our new distribution center in Plano! 3/15 | Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art – March

Celebrate women artists throughout history with talks, tours, and several exhibitions, including Berthe Morisot, Woman Impressionist and Women Artists in Europe from the Monarchy to Modernism.

3/16 | Dallas Mavs 40th Anniversary St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival

2019 marks the 19th year into the millennial and this remarkable number, which will cast an emerald hue over every day leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, needs a parade befitting of fanfare and revelry. Once again, the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA) is rising up to the road with the wind firmly at its collective back by announcing that the Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival presented by the Dallas Mavericks will take place March 16th beginning at 11am.

3/21 | Conception Art Show – Dallas

A “pop-up” event presenting the work of 35 local artists (featuring live music, complimentary appetizer hour, and a cash bar), guests will have the opportunity to purchase something original for their home or workplace without incurring a gallery commission.

3/21 | The Dallas Arboretum Food and Wine Festival

Together with Farmer Lee Jones, The Chef’s Garden, and committee Chairwomen Chef Sharon Van Meter and Melissa Lewis, The Dallas Arboretum is excited to announce the 2019 Food and Wine Festival, Thursday March 21 – Saturday March 23. 3/23 | Between the Buns, a Dallas Observer Slider Event

Between The Buns is an outdoor slider-sampling festival that will feature some of the best sliders that Dallas has to offer, from fried chicken, to pulled pork, burgers and more! It will also include music, cash bars with beer and cocktails. Get your fill of sliders, one of the best finger foods, only at Between the Buns!

3/23 | 2019 Jazz Age Sunday Social

The Sixth Annual Jazz Age Sunday Social returns to Dallas Heritage Village Sunday March 24th. The grandest vintage-inspired event in Texas is back with everything you know and love, plus a few new attractions to boot. Enjoy a day of 1920s music and culture on the grounds of Dallas Heritage Village – antique cars, dancing, vintage vendors, food, ice cream, games, and more. Elaine Hewlett from The Rhythm Room will be teaching you all the steps you need to know, so you can dance the day away to The Singapore Slingers – Dallas’ most authentic 1920s dance band.

3/26-30 | 10th Annual Dallas Comedy Festival

For one week in March, acts from across the country converge in Dallas, Texas. You won’t want to miss these performances. Badges are on sale now! Individual tickets go on sale March 1st. OUR MISSION: The Dallas Comedy Festival’s mission is two-fold. DCF exists to ignite a passion for the comedic arts in Dallas-Fort Worth by showcasing top up-and-coming comedic talent. Additionally, DCF provides opportunities for performers to hone their craft in various workshops, panels, and through networking with industry and peers.

3/29 | Big Texas Beer Fest 2019

The Big Texas Beer Fest is Dallas’ original beer festival. The 2019 event is the 8th annual. As far as we know, we’re the first craft beer festival to take place over a *2* day period in Texas. This event is held indoors AND outdoors at the Fair Park Automobile Building. Last year’s festival featured 100 breweries and over 400 beers. We expect similar numbers for this year’s event.

3/29 | Heroes and Handbags – Dallas 2019

Chair Stacey Butler invites you to join her for Heroes and Handbags! This signature event will include a delicious champagne brunch, a meaningful program, and an exciting auction of fabulous designer handbags, all benefiting the mission of Heroes for Children! Help us reach our goal that no Texas family battling childhood cancer fights alone.

3/30 | 2nd Annual Festival of Joy

Experience India’s vast cultural and spiritual heritage at Klyde Warren Park. Enjoy live music and dance performances, along with traditional eats, games, and activities for the entire family. The Festival of Joy – also celebrated as the Festival of Chariots, or Ratha Yatra – has its roots in ancient India and the bhakti tradition and is celebrated in major cities all across the world.

3/31 | Dallas Donut Festival

Do you like donuts? Of course you do! Join Donut Digest and Brandon Does Dallas for the FIRST EVER Dallas Donut Fest, featuring donuts, coffee, crafts and more from the entire metroplex.

4/4 | Tacos + Tequila

The Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival is excited to be showcasing the Southwestern flavors, with which our region has long had a torrid love affair. Upscale or down home, trendy or traditional – tacos are hot, any way you fold ‘em. And when they’re paired with tequila, it’s a win-win. Eighteen chefs and twelve beverage vendors will be bringing their best to this fan favorite event.

4/6 | Culinary Corral

This year, we’ve created a four-hour celebration of the best of the fest. 4/12-14 | Dallas Art Fair

The fair will take place within the Fashion Industry Gallery (f.i.g.) in the Dallas Arts District from April 11-14, 2019. Close to 100 exhibitors from over 30 different cities across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia will take part in the 2019 fair.

4/14 | Dallas Pizza Fest 2019

The 2nd annual Dallas Pizza Fest, celebrating our Love for Pizza in our city. Last year we ate, this year we feast! This event will include: Dallas Pizza Parlors and Trucks, Kids Bounce Land, Live Music & Shows, Beer & Wine Garden, Celebrity Chef, Pizza Eating Contest, and Voting for Dallas Pizza Taste Award! This yummy event is open to All Ages.

4/29-28 | Earthx2019

The World’s Largest Environmental Exposition, Conference and Film Festival. EarthxExpo is April 26-29, EarthxConference is April 25-28, and EarthxFilm is April 19-28. Register to attend the EarthxExpo and learn more about conferences at EarthX.org!

4/27 | Plano Brunch Festival & Race to Brunch 5k

The festivities for the Plano Brunch Festival are kicking off at 8am with the RACE TO BRUNCH 5K Presented by O’Neil Wysocki Family Law! The Race to Brunch 5k will start at The District at the Shops at Willow Bend! The course will take you through the perimeters at The Shops at Willow Bend and you’ll end at the finish line with a mimosa toast and brunch treats!
