The Oak Cliff Cultural Center presents “Written Witness,” a FREE exhibition on view from February 23 – March 29. Fabric Artist-Poet Jas. Mardis and Calligrapher Andrea Tosten exhibit small-to-large work in paper and fabric exploring responses to race, injustice, and identity through fabric portraiture, symbolism, leather & wood burning and hand-lettered explorations of select, reflective classic literature.

3/5 | North Texas Food Bank’s 20th Annual Empty Bowls

During the event, guests will enjoy live entertainment, a photobooth and delicious bites at our new distribution center in Plano! In addition to soup and other bowl friendly fare from 20+ North Texas restaurants, attendees can select a handcrafted bowl from some of Texas’ finest artists as a memento of the day. Proceeds of the event will benefit the North Texas Food Bank’s feeding programs.

3/7 | Dallas City Wide Salsa Party

Calvin Sexton presents the Jazz Trombone Project – “A night of Salsa and Latin Jazz at the South Dallas Cultural Center. For many years, Calvin Sexton-International Touring Artist, Educator, and band leader of the ensemble, Inner City All-Stars-has excited audiences with his unique and energetic approach to captivating audiences through his performances.

NTIF 2019 will take place in Fair Park on March 8-10. Along with such Texas festival icons such as South by Southwest and Ennis Czech Music Festival, Travel Magazine has listed the North Texas Irish Festival as one of the best events in Texas.

3/15 | Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art – March

Celebrate women artists throughout history with talks, tours, and several exhibitions, including Berthe Morisot, Woman Impressionist and Women Artists in Europe from the Monarchy to Modernism.

3/16 | Dallas Mavs 40th Anniversary St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival

2019 marks the 19th year into the millennial and this remarkable number, which will cast an emerald hue over every day leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, needs a parade befitting of fanfare and revelry. Once again, the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA) is rising up to the road with the wind firmly at its collective back by announcing that the Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival presented by the Dallas Mavericks will take place March 16th beginning at 11am.

3/16 | St. Patrick’s Day at The Market

Looking for the freshest greens for St. Patrick’s Day? You’re in luck! Follow the rainbow to the Dallas Farmers Market. From 12-5pm, The Wee Gypsy, Best Little Photo Booth in Texas with also be in Pearl Plaza, all leading up to a Bagpipe performance in The Market at 5pm.

3/16 | St. Paddy’s Boozy & Basic Cupcake Decorating Pop-Up

For this St. Patrick’s day themed session we are getting “BOOZY & BASIC”! You’ll have an absolute blast celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Remember, we’re all here to have fun! No experience is necessary. This fun event is co-hosted by and benefiting ‘Here’s Your Reminder’ Project: mental health advocates.

3/17 | Downtown Bar Stroll

Downtown Dallas, Inc. is excited to invite you to our first Downtown Bar Stroll! We invite you to dress up in your favorite GREEN outfit/costume and join us in discovering Downtown bars! The first 50 people to arrive between 1:00 p.m. – 1:20 p.m. at our first stop (Green Door) will receive a free drink to kick off the event! Each bar will provide drink specials and we’ll have prize drawings at different locations. We’ll stroll around Downtown and stop for photo ops in between.

Greater Dallas Restaurant Association’s third annual charity event will be held at The Joule, Monday, March 18, 2019. Food in Fashion features VIP receptions, silent and live auctions, a food‑infused fashion show and more. Proceeds benefit restaurant and hospitality career‑development programs in Texas.

3/21 | Conception Art Show – Dallas

A “pop-up” event presenting the work of 35 local artists (featuring live music, complimentary appetizer hour, and a cash bar), guests will have the opportunity to purchase something original for their home or workplace without incurring a gallery commission.

3/21 | The Dallas Arboretum Food and Wine Festival

Together with Farmer Lee Jones, The Chef’s Garden, and committee Chairwomen Chef Sharon Van Meter and Melissa Lewis, The Dallas Arboretum is excited to announce the 2019 Food and Wine Festival, Thursday March 21 – Saturday March 23. After a resounding success last year, our illustrious Chairwomen have taken bold steps to grow the event into a three-day, wine-and-harvest focused experience.

3/23 | Between the Buns, a Dallas Observer Slider Event

Between The Buns is an outdoor slider-sampling festival that will feature some of the best sliders that Dallas has to offer, from fried chicken, to pulled pork, burgers and more! It will also include music, cash bars with beer and cocktails. Get your fill of sliders, one of the best finger foods, only at Between the Buns!

3/23 | 2019 Jazz Age Sunday Social

The Sixth Annual Jazz Age Sunday Social returns to Dallas Heritage Village Sunday March 24th. The grandest vintage-inspired event in Texas is back with everything you know and love, plus a few new attractions to boot. Enjoy a day of 1920s music and culture on the grounds of Dallas Heritage Village – antique cars, dancing, vintage vendors, food, ice cream, games, and more. Elaine Hewlett from The Rhythm Room will be teaching you all the steps you need to know, so you can dance the day away to The Singapore Slingers – Dallas’ most authentic 1920s dance band.

3/26-30 | 10th Annual Dallas Comedy Festival

For one week in March, acts from across the country converge in Dallas, Texas. You won’t want to miss these performances. Badges are on sale now! Individual tickets go on sale March 1st. OUR MISSION: The Dallas Comedy Festival’s mission is two-fold. DCF exists to ignite a passion for the comedic arts in Dallas-Fort Worth by showcasing top up-and-coming comedic talent. Additionally, DCF provides opportunities for performers to hone their craft in various workshops, panels, and through networking with industry and peers.

3/29 | Big Texas Beer Fest 2019

The Big Texas Beer Fest is Dallas’ original beer festival. The 2019 event is the 8th annual. As far as we know, we’re the first craft beer festival to take place over a *2* day period in Texas. This event is held indoors AND outdoors at the Fair Park Automobile Building. Last year’s festival featured 100 breweries and over 400 beers. We expect similar numbers for this year’s event.

3/29 | Heroes and Handbags – Dallas 2019

Chair Stacey Butler invites you to join her for Heroes and Handbags! This signature event will include a delicious champagne brunch, a meaningful program, and an exciting auction of fabulous designer handbags, all benefiting the mission of Heroes for Children! Help us reach our goal that no Texas family battling childhood cancer fights alone.

3/30 | 2nd Annual Festival of Joy

Experience India’s vast cultural and spiritual heritage at Klyde Warren Park. Enjoy live music and dance performances, along with traditional eats, games, and activities for the entire family. The Festival of Joy – also celebrated as the Festival of Chariots, or Ratha Yatra – has its roots in ancient India and the bhakti tradition and is celebrated in major cities all across the world.

3/31 | Dallas Donut Festival

Do you like donuts? Of course you do! Join Donut Digest and Brandon Does Dallas for the FIRST EVER Dallas Donut Fest, featuring donuts, coffee, crafts and more from the entire metroplex.

4/1-5 | Dallas Startup Week

Dallas Startup Week 2019, powered by Capital One, is a FREE, 5-day event, from April 1-5, that impacts and mobilizes 10,000 North Texas entrepreneurs and change-makers. The event will include over 150 sessions across 16 tracks, the launch of the Women of Innovation Summit, a new Corporate Startup Innovation Summit, a series of headline speakers and the annual State of Entrepreneurship.

4/4 | Tacos + Tequila

The Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival is excited to be showcasing the Southwestern flavors, with which our region has long had a torrid love affair. Upscale or down home, trendy or traditional – tacos are hot, any way you fold ‘em. And when they’re paired with tequila, it’s a win-win. Eighteen chefs and twelve beverage vendors will be bringing their best to this fan favorite event.

4/12-14 | Dallas Art Fair

The fair will take place within the Fashion Industry Gallery (f.i.g.) in the Dallas Arts District from April 11-14, 2019. Close to 100 exhibitors from over 30 different cities across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia will take part in the 2019 fair.

4/13 | Allen Food + Wine Festival

Join us in Allen, Texas for the Allen Food + Wine Festival Presented by Crest Exteriors! 4/26 | Social Science: Science Fiction at the Perot Museum

Science fact or science fiction? The answer may surprise you! Learn about how some sci-fi gadgets of the past have informed the tech of today, and speculate about what may become reality in the future. Explore the science that goes into creating special effects for your favorite wizard, superhero, and futuristic movies, and dive into the complexity of artificial intelligence and robots at this adults-only night of sci-fi fun.

Since its inception, the AT&T Byron Nelson has raised more than $155 million for Momentous Institute, more than any other PGA TOUR event. One of the exciting things with the tournament moving to the City of Dallas is that people will be able to enjoy golf, while experiencing the beauty of the Great Trinity Forest – the largest urban forest in the United States. 5/11 | Legacy Jazz Festival

The first annual Legacy Jazz Festival hosted by the Braswell HS Band will take place on Saturday, May 11th at Legacy Food Hall. Patrons will hear performances by area middle school and high school jazz bands. Performances will also be given by jazz icon, Freddie Jones and GRAMMY nominated drummer, Ray “Quasi” Nelson. Join us for a day full of fun, food, and JAZZ!

5/11 | Asian Festival 2019

Save the date for our annual 2019 Asian Festival at Cypress Waters, Dallas! This year will feature cultural performances, cultural pavilions, vendor booths, authentic delicious Asian food, and much much more! You won’t want to miss out on this free event.

The 27th celebration is a series of events for everyone including live performances by national, regional & local bands, the Singer Songwriter Stage, contest & workshop, the family-friendly WF! 5/21 | North Texas Life Science Career Symposium (LSCS) 2019

The North Texas Life Science Career Symposium (LSCS 2019) is the first of its kind in Dallas-Fort Worth. The goal of LSCS is to connect top academic talent in North Texas with careers in the life sciences. LSCS will bring together graduate students, post doctorates, medical professionals, and others together with life science company representatives and key opinion leaders for an evening of career exploration, networking, and job opportunities.

Sweet Tooth Hotel announces DISCOTECH. In collaboration with px.lab, a mixed reality studio focused on large-scale new media productions, Discotech will combine music and new media to create interactive audio-visual installations. You’re invited to check in…throw on a pair of Sweet Tooth Hotel silent disco headphones and explore the newly expanded space, complete with a bar.

Opens 5/25 | 9th Annual Dallas Margarita Meltdown 2019

You taste! You vote! You play judge and vote for your favorite margarita. Sample the best restaurants and bars throughout the Dallas/Ft.Worth area all at one location. Competitors will concoct their finest margarita and offer samples from 5pm-8pm at the margarita competition at the West End (Downtown Dallas). The winner of the Best Margarita in Dallas will be announced at 8:45pm.

5/26 | Memorial Day Music Fest

Join us as the lawn comes alive with the Park’s first-ever FREE music festival. Check out performances across multiple stages throughout the day and into the night. Between performances, explore vendor booths, play in the family game zone, have your face painted and feast on bites from our famous food trucks.

5/28-6/1 | 2019 Dallas Festival of Books and Ideas

Since 2015, the Dallas Festival of Ideas has aimed at shaping the city of the future by igniting, uniting, and energizing the people of Dallas through the power of ideas. In 2019, the 5th annual city-wide event will have a new look and expanded content, incorporating the Dallas Book Festival into its programming and conducting its familiar city-track explorations over a week-long period
