Specializations and Program Offerings: Brand new state-of-the art studio for Audio/Visual students and a mock hospital room for new Health Science program. Students can graduate with a welding certification through a local company, Sabre Tubular.
Extracurricular: Fine Arts are recognized across the state as consistently producing award-winning groups. At least one choir student has earned all-state honors in 15 of the last 16 years and band has had at least two members earn honors for the last six years. The band was also recognized over the summer as the sixth best 4A Honor Band in the state of Texas. One Act Play has advanced to Area for nine of the last 11 years. High School cross country is recognized as one of the top programs in the state with the boys team qualifying for state in each of the last four years with a second place team finish three years ago and a silver medalist individual in each of the last two years. All sports consistently make post-season play and several have had historical seasons in the last five years.
Safety and Security: Alvarado ISD is extremely safe with restricted access only through a buzzer system at five of six campuses.
