Distinguishing Characteristics: Crowley ISD is an acclaimed school district serving the southwest Fort Worth and Crowley communities and is bordered by two major interstates, I-20 and I-35W. The new Chisholm Trail Parkway runs through the middle of the district, with more interchanges of the Parkway in CISD than any other school district. A majority of the district’s 23 campuses are located in the city of Fort Worth. The district is home to two high schools: Crowley High School (5A) and North Crowley High School (6A). CISD has the highest percentage of high school students in Tarrant County enrolled in Career and Technical courses at the district’s Bill R. Johnson CTE Center. The district receives unprecedented community support from dedicated families, educators, corporations, and community leaders.

Specializations and Program Offerings: Participation in advanced academics has skyrocketed across CISD with a 136 percent increase in students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses since 2010. Pre-AP courses are now available starting as early as sixth grade.

Dual credit enrollment has increased 850 percent through a partnership with Tarrant County College to offer courses at the district’s Bill R. Johnson Career and Technology Education Center. The CTE Center also serves almost 30 percent of CISD high school students with courses in 13 career pathways. Elementary students attending CISD’s Two-Way Dual Language Program receive instruction in both English and Spanish, providing students the opportunity to become bilingual. The Global Prep Academy, a CISD Digital Learning Community, provides virtual classes with a challenging, flexible, and personalized learning environment through online programming.

Extracurricular: Students succeed on the stage, on the court, and on the field through a variety of opportunities in the arts and athletics. North Crowley High School has the most All-State Choir members in Area B and the third highest in the entire state. The Crowley High School Mighty Eagle Band has received 33 consecutive Superior Division 1 ratings at UIL marching band competitions. The North Crowley Mighty Panther Band has received 17 consecutive Superior Division 1 ratings. The acclaimed CISD Honor Choir for fifth- and sixth-grade students performs in prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York City. Student athletes at CHS and NCHS have won a combined 15 state championships in a number of sports: including football, basketball, softball, track, and powerlifting.

Safety and Security: A dedicated team of school resource officers from the Fort Worth and Crowley police departments serves the Crowley ISD campuses, ensuring the safety of students, staff, and parents. Safety/security systems at all schools allow the use of digital technology and high-resolution cameras to capture images at all times in common areas, parking lots, and building entrances. Controlled access and advanced visitor registration systems are additional features at schools.

Selling Points: Crowley ISD students have achieved the highest academic ratings possible under the state accountability system, with 100 percent of campuses exceeding student achievement standards in STAAR Index 1. Seven schools earned a combined 13 Academic Distinction titles. An iPad mini is provided to every student in seventh through 12th grades, providing a greater level of education enrichment and enhancement to current curriculum, in a manner more cost-effective than traditional textbooks. The CISD Corps of Cadets is the largest Army JROTC unit in DFW and the eighth largest in the southwest region. The Sewell Agriculture Science Center is known and respected as one of the premier agricultural education centers in the state.
