Distinguishing Characteristics: Little Elm ISD is considered a fast growing district in the state of Texas. We have a diverse student population at all of our campuses. Our campuses are unique with open spaces designed for collaborative learning. It couldn’t be more evident in our newest campus, Prestwick STEM Academy.
Specializations and Program Offerings: We offer Dual Language at two of our elementary campuses, Hackberry and Brent Elementary schools. Our new STEM academy is driven by Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for all grade levels, K-8. We offer Advanced Placement courses at the high school for all juniors and seniors. Student can earn college credit hours through our On Ramps program through the University of Texas and we pay 100% of the dual credit cost for our high school students. The high school has a special offering for our Special Education students through our Nationally recognized Vynami Cafe, a student operated restaurant. We implemented a 1:1 initiative for students in grades 4-12 where each student receives their own laptop for the entire school year. We have Project Based Learning (PBL) for K-9 at Oak Point, Prestwick STEM, Lakeside Middle School, and Little Elm High School. For our teachers, we have an onsite district child care that promotes learning and social development.
Extracurricular: Award winning Lobo Band, growing fine arts program, football, boys and girls basketball, volleyball, boys and girls soccer, baseball, softball, powerlifting, cross country, track, regional Special Olympics Track meet.
Safety and Security: Closed campus for lunch. An on-campus Security Resource Officer (contracted through the city of The Colony and the Town of Little Elm Police Departments) at Prestwick STEM Academy, Lakeside Middle School, and Little Elm High School during the school day.

Little Elm ISD is a one high school district currently serving just under 1,900 students.
