Distinguishing Characteristics: Located in the heart of Parker County, Weatherford ISD is approximately 20 miles west of Fort Worth and offers a small town community with all the amenities of the nearby metroplex. The district is projected to grow by 100 students each year through the year 2024.
Specializations and Program Offerings: A large variety of classes are offered to students, including special courses for advanced students, special needs students, Gifted and Talented courses, technology courses, as well as bilingual and English as a second language. Teachers and staff are focused on creating a learning environment conducive to helping each student achieve their personal best.

Selling Points: Weatherford ISD teachers and staff are focused on creating a learning environment conducive to helping each student achieve their personal best. Our high school boasts a strong academic program offering AP courses, dual credit, and a variety of Career and Technology courses. We also offer outstanding extracurricular opportunities for students in athletics, band, choir, drill team, FFA, and theater arts. The WHS Class of 2014 received more than $5 million in scholarships and our graduation rate of 98.7 percent far exceeds state and national average.
For more than 40 years, the WISD Community Education department has provided an award-winning array of courses for parents and students. Adult learners seeking a GED degree or continuing education courses will find a variety of selections from which to choose. English-as-a-second-language classes are also available for adults. For working parents, we offer the opportunity for their children to attend our Kids Unite after-school program.
We are also fortunate to have a strong community support for our school district. Through private, personal, and business donations, the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation raises money to fund innovative programs for our classrooms. More than $850,000 has been awarded to hundreds of teachers since 2000 through our grant award process. The Education Foundation also provides school supplies to our students in need and supports teachers through scholarships for continuing education.
