Named after South Side on Lamar, an adaptive re-use of the former Sears Catalog Merchandise Center, South Side consists of many prime landmarks, including Gilley’s performance hall, Poor David’s Pub, and the CANVAS Hotel, which features a hard-to-beat view of downtown. Other landmarks in South Side include Jack Evans Police Headquarters and the administrative offices of the Dallas County Community College system.
