A City of PersonalityMy Dallas Story

Name: Yohan Bobcombe

City: Fort Worth

Neighborhood: Downtown

Company/Title: Lyft

When did you move here? From where?
I moved to Dallas from Houston, but I’m originally from Trinidad.

Where else have you lived?
I have lived all over the U.S.; New York City; Washington, D.C.; Frankfort, Kentucky; San Francisco; Philadelphia; Durham, North Carolina; Huntington Beach, California; Rahway, New Jersey; and Tallahassee, Florida.

What made you Say Yes to Dallas?
Dallas is an amazing city with a very unique culture. The people here are wonderful, and it is a very active and close knit community, which is closely aligned with my personality. From a career standpoint, the opportunity to lead the local Lyft team was a huge factor in my decision to come to Dallas.

How did you choose where to live in the Dallas Region?
My wife and I choose a location that is less stressful to her commute, so we ended up in Fort Worth.

How has your opinion of the Dallas Region changed since moving here?
I fall more and more in love with the Dallas Region every day. I keep exploring and find new and amazing things to experience. I plan to stay here for a long time.

Tell us about your city/neighborhood. What do you like best? What makes it different?
I live within the vicinity of the TCU campus, so I have a college town/suburb vibe. It’s really the best of both world; I can get to downtown in less than 15 minutes and be back in suburbia in a jiffy. I like the fact that it gives me a really good pulse of the college scene and, at the same time, deep insight into the lifestyle of the working populace. There is always tons to do and it’s a pretty unique and fun community to call home.

What is your favorite outdoor activity, and where if your favorite place to do it?
I love biking on Trinity Trails, which is so convenient for me.

What is your favorite restaurant?
I’m a huge fan of Torchy’s Tacos.
