Each year, the Dallas Region hosts two PGA Tour tournaments: the AT&T Byron Nelson which takes place at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney in 2023, and the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. No, you don’t have to be a pro to play these courses – and you’ve got plenty of other options too. We have more than 100 public golf courses in the area, and they touch on all skill levels and price points. Golf Digest named Dallas National Golf Club in Southwest Dallas the top course in the state. Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine makes several “best” lists. It’s an “over-the-top NFL-themed golf course once owned by Jerry Jones,” according to the Golf Channel—and a superb course despite the theme-park-sounding description. The Tribute and Old American golf clubs in The Colony also pop up on list after list, but there are many more worth a swing.
