Lucas
Close to Allen and Plano, where you can find a variety of things to do, including Texas Survival School and outdoor adventure experience company GoApe, the city of Lucas has had a growth spurt over the past ten years. The Collin County city was named after Gabriel Lucas – the son of an early settler. For nearly a century the economy was based on agriculture – primarily cotton and corn.
Today people like Lucas for its Farmer’s Market, car shows, and annual holiday market. Residents say they also like the excellent schools and family-friendly environment.
