Need an excuse to get out? Many restaurants and bars are reopening in the Dallas Region. Check out our pick of places to be and views to see from our Views of Dallas hidden gems list!
WATERPROOF AT THE STATLER
The iconic Statler Hotel is located in the heart of Downtown Dallas, and offers one of the best skyline views Dallas has to offer. Want a place to grab a drink and relax at the pool during the day? Want a place to grab a drink and wear your best cocktail attire at night? You can find both of those things at Waterproof, the rooftop pool bar on the 19th floor of the hotel. Fun fact: Llinda Llee Llama lives here…can you spot her statue?
LEGACY HALL
Now open for dine-in, carryout, and delivery. Plano’s popular Legacy Hall has over 24 food stalls run by local chefs and aspiring restauranteurs to satisfy your cravings, you’re bound to find a bite you like. In the mood to drink? There’s everything from cocktail bars to wine bars, including an award-winning craft brewery. Did we mention there’s also live music and sporting events here, AND free parking? We are already on our way.
HG SPLY CO.
In the heart of Lowest Greenville (yes, even lower than Lower Greenville) in Old East Dallas is HG Sply Co., one of our favorite places to sit with friends and enjoy the beautiful Dallas skyline. (Not going to lie – their Fort Worth location isn’t too bad, either!) HG tells their beginning as “four regular guys wanted a spot to gather, tell big stories, enjoy a good drink and celebrate their victories.” See for yourself how they achieved that perfectly.
HARLOWE MXM
We joined in the artsy crowd in Deep Ellum for evening drinks and bites at HARLOWE MXM. If the downstairs ambience didn’t already win you over, the view upstairs definitely will…and so will the food and drinks. The cherry on top for us was their weekly live music lineup, setting the vibe for the evening and then into the night for those willing to stay up.
VETTED WELL AT ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE CEDARS
Whether you’re actually watching a movie or not, you can head over to Alamo Drafthouse to grab a cocktail and some delicious bites (Highly recommended: the Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower. Mainly because it was so good and I thought it was just really soft chicken until someone told me what was ordered.) If the weather isn’t ideal for skyline-seeing, you can head inside and grab one of their karaoke rooms for a fun night of singing.
TEXAS LIVE!
We couldn’t leave the Arlington gem out of our video series! We drove past Six Flags to get to Texas Live!, which offers one of the best views in the Dallas Region – SPORTS. (Did you know we have 7 professional sports teams in the Dallas Region?) Come here with your friends to grab a bite and beer while watching the game on one of several screens. Arlington Backyard, Baseballism, and Lockhart Smokehouse are now open.
